Miss S was a contest winner in our Facebook group! She won a complimentary Booty Book. But that meant she had to be ready to commit and book her shoot! She booked her shoot for June 2018 and fell so in love with herself in her images that she upgraded to an album!

How did you feel leading up to your shoot? Were you scared? Nervous or excited?
I was a nervous wreck! I have been struggling with body positivity since 11 and having just recovered from a eating disorder a few months before, I was so nervous that I would get there, see myself, and run away. I was also excited but initially nerves just took over because this was completely out of my comfort zone. I think the nerves really went away when Paige showed me some of the photos, I was like “DAMN! Who is that?”.
Did you enjoy your experience with hair and makeup? Did you work with Michelle or with Lauren? Did they help you feel comfortable and amazing before stepping in front of the camera?
I got to work with Lauren and LOVED her. I sat in her chair and as someone who did makeup for others she truly has a great way of making her client feel beautiful and comfortable. We didn’t stop talking! It may sound silly, but it was like talking to a friend! I just thought she was a fantastic person before I ever saw saw myself in the mirror. I was in tears as soon as she revealed my hair and makeup, I had no idea how beautiful I looked! I have had my makeup done before, but never like this! Her makeup didn’t feel or look cakey, which was surprising for a photo shoot! Lauren made it so I could look at myself and feel like a sexy, saucy woman!
How did you feel during your shoot? Did the nerves subside?
My nerves were sky high! I have never had professional photos, so to be stripped down and put in front of a camera was super new to me! I was so nervous, for the first few photos! I was in my head about how I looked. Paige was awesome at telling me what to do or telling me how amazing I was. By the time I was 5 photos in, I was completely comfortable and was happy I chose Paige over someone else to see show me how sexy I can be!
What was your reason for booking a boudoir shoot?
I went through a lot of mental self destruction in the past few years. I was 240 pounds and diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, I was told I could not have children and was pre-diabetic. I was depressed and went a year without looking in a mirror. I literally cried if I saw myself or had my picture taken. I went into 2017 and began not eating from depression, then the “Wow you look great!” comments came as I lost the weight and soon I was eating nothing at all. I lost 100 pounds in 8 months, I was losing my hair and myself. I became pregnant and immediately started to eat and be healthy, I went to a therapist and figured out I am blessed with a beautiful body no matter the size. I lost my baby 5 months ago, I knew if I didn’t take steps to stay on a positive path I could see the worst in myself again. I saw Paige post a giveaway. I thought, “I’ll never win, but I’ll enter”. Well, I won! I knew without a question, if I didn’t do this now, I would regret it forever!
What advice do you have for other women considering a boudoir shoot?
You are worth it! Paige has this talent for taking all the most amazing parts of any woman and highlighting them in photos! It was something I would have never done for myself in the past and I am so lucky I did! I am at an all time high in my confidence and self worth after seeing my photos. I truly believe that is what boudoir should do. Do it for yourself, not for anyone else. We as women are great at putting ourselves last. Let Paige help you put yourself first and see yourself in a whole new light! It will change how you feel, in all the best ways, I promise!
What was your favorite part of the experience?
Can I say all of it? No, really, the best part was seeing myself in a new way! She would show me myself on her camera and I would be at a loss for words! You can’t help but to come home and feel like a whole new woman! I think seeing how everything from makeup, backgrounds and lighting all come together, and how Paige and Lauren were so talented at making this such a beautiful and professional experience was also a huge favorite. It was amazing to see her passion reflected in my images. I just want to go back already!
What made you choose the Fearlessly You Boudoir team?
For me, it was all about feeling comfortable with someone. I have been on the Fearlessly You Facebook group for well over a year and she has shed such a light on body diversity and acceptance of any shape or size. The pictures she takes are extraordinary! Honestly, it was really how I saw women of all shapes, ethnicity, and ages displayed front and center in her work. Boudoir is an experience where you need to feel like you are in a safe, and judgement free zone. She and her team are the sole reason so many women feel empowered and beautiful, I made the right choice.
I just want to say that I am so grateful to Paige and Lauren for giving me something to remind myself that I am beautiful. I had no idea going into this it was going to be such an eye opening, empowering experience. I want everyone to feel how good I feel when I look at my photos! I can’t wait to do it again and again!
